First Aid Room Air Conditioned

First Aid Room Air Conditioner Commissioned

Sunday 15 January saw the commissioning of a 2.5KW Mitsubishi Air Conditioning Unit in the First Aid Room. Many thanks to Lions Community 100 Grant (Lions Balgowlah) for providing a $1,000 grant to assist in the purchase and installation costs. Thanks to Garth Hickey for getting the unit at a staff price from Mitsubishi in Wetherill Park and Jye Walker, Barry Antella and Ray Williams for the installation.

The unit will ensure the First Aid Room is conducive to treating patients in a pleasant temperature and will also help to cool the room on busy carnival days when First Aid is in demand – it certainly helped the first Sunday when treating 7 Bluebottle Stings with the hot shower pumping out heat as well. Patrol Captains should use the unit judiciously and ensure it is switched off at the end of the day.
