Uniforms

All Nippers are required to wear a Queensie Nipper cap, swimmers and high visibility rash vest. These are available for purchase from our Uniform Shop, located downstairs in the Club House (open Sunday mornings during the season). This uniform is essential as it helps our Age Manager and Coordinators identify which kids are involved in the Nipper events on Sunday mornings.

Parent Roles

Leading into the 2018-2019 season we will reach out to parents to fill the following volunteer roles for each Age Group (6 to 14 Years):

SUNDAY AGE MANAGER – This year we will have one (1) designated Sunday Age Manager for each age group that will be the main point of contact and responsible for the smooth running of activities. The Sunday Age Manager will be the point of contact for our Masters, who man & run each activity on the beach and in the surf.

SUNDAY AGE COORDINATORS – The number of Sunday Age Coordinators will be governed by the size of the age group. The ratio will be 8 Nippers per each Sunday Age Coordinator. Our Coordinators will take direction from the Sunday Age Manager ensuring the activity rotation of their age group.

COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR – As parents we all know the importance of communications. Each Communications Coordinator will ensure their Age Group is kept in form with information relevant to their group. The majority of communications will be via Team App which will relay the message via mobile and email (Parents will be advised the process of setting up Team App).

COMPETITION COORDINAOR – We want to encourage Queensie Nippers to compete at Carnivals (8-14 Years) and represent the club, as you would do in other sports. The Competition Coordinator will be responsible for rallying Nippers to compete in Beach and / or Surf events. The different Age Group Competition Coordinators will work together to arrange volunteers to help set up tents and to ensure all Nippers have a great experience.

Training

As you can appreciate, there is only so much we can teach our Nippers in our normal Sunday morning Nipper program. Therefore, Queensie provides training in beach and water disciplines by experienced and caring coaches. This training caters for all levels of experience for our Under 6’s through to Under 14’s.

Carnivals

Carnivals are a very important part of the season. Under 8s to Under 14s are eligible to enter carnivals, entry is done via the Club and the Club pays the applicable entry fees. It is very important that if you register for a carnival that you attend, otherwise the Club is out of pocket.  If on the day you feel conditions are not right for your confidence levels, come along and cheer on your team mates anyway!

Each Age Group’s Competition Coordinator will provide you with the range of events staged at a carnival relating to your age group. They will also provide you with details on coaching that the Club offers to enhance your ability.

Beach Care

Our club colours maybe Red and Blue, but there is another colour we want to instil in our Nipper program this season and that is Green!!

Ensuring our Nippers are taught to be conscious of the beach environment is very important. This season we will add to our Sunday program beach care messages and spend time policing rubbish left on our great Queensie beach!
