We need Club members to help, across all Sections
Friday 8th November 2024 will be Queenscliff SLSC’s 21st Charity Golf Day.
The feedback from those who have come along has been overwhelmingly positive.
Even non-golfers have fun and real golfers are challenged by this great Long Reef Course.
At this stage of planning we need help from Queenscliff Club members as we chase two main things over the next few months:
Hole Sponsors; and
Prizes and Auction items for the day
Hole sponsorship is $1,800.00.
The Hole Sponsorships are generally taken by businesses and they are given signage on a hole and acknowledgement in on-course signage, Club newsletters and in the Annual Report. They also receive two golf carts for use by the four staff, clients or friends they bring along on the day. For the next few months, despite strong demand for general foursomes, we will only be registering Hole Sponsorships and any further foursomes that those confirmed Hole Sponsors may require.
At the Golf Day, prizes are given for a number of novelty events as well as the top 3 teams in each of three Divisions: All Women; All Men; and Mixed foursomes.
If we can secure enough significant prizes we will have an on-course-only Raffle and sometimes we run a small lunchtime Auction, as well.
The format for the day is:
- 7.00am Breakfast, welcome & briefing at the Clubhouse
- 7.30am teams go to allocated holes (some with hire golf carts) for a shotgun start
- 8.00am shot gun start for an Ambrose event – 4 ball, best ball, so everyone hits
- On-course, free Ham & Mustard rolls plus Drinks cart and Raffle ticket sales
- 12.30pm assemble at Clubhouse for lunch
- 1.00pm lunch, golf & novelty awards, draw raffle and maybe auction a couple of items
- 3.00pm after lots of laughs, head home.
OUR ANNUAL GOLF DAY IS QUEENSCLIFF SLSC’S BIGGEST FUND RAISER.
WE REALLY DO NEED THE HELP OF ALL CLUB MEMBERS. PLEASE LET BUSINESSES OR CONTACTS KNOW ABOUT THIS FUND RAISER SO THEY MIGHT EITHER SPONSOR A HOLE OR SUPPLY A PRIZE ITEM.
