Competition policy below.\nOfficials Training Night Wednesday 27th October.\nLast season we introduced the concept that competitors parents would need to help either as an Official, Water Safety or Lead Age Manager at competition as per SLSA guidelines and unsurprisingly each of these require training and certification. Hence if you don’t hold a current Bronze certification, we would be grateful if you could complete your Officials qualification. The club is hosting a night this Wednesday 27th October from 6.30pm to help you complete through this. Lead Age Managers and current Bronze Holders exempt. You can also do this independently online but it is more fun and easier if done together.\nTo prepare –\nGo to sls.com.au – loginClick Members\nNavigate to E-learning/Training Library\nSelect the course – SLS Officiating – view courses\nFind the SLS – Technical Officials Course – $60 – then you will be ready on the night.\nDon’t forget your laptop.\n \nWhy do I need to do this?\nThis policy is actually at many clubs whilst it is new to us at Queensie. We have relied upon our Masters members who have done this for years and it is now time for them to step away. Our Nippers cannot compete unless we have a quota of water safety and officials proportionate to our number of competitors. This requirement is also necessary to be allocated a board.\n \nAre there any benefits for me?\nOfficiating is one way to understand competition and see your Nipper compete. You meet people involved in the club and SLS. It is a way to give back to the club and help your Nipper understand how competition works. \nIf you could please RSVP on Queensie Team App for the course. The club will provide some refreshments.\n \nWATER TRAINING AND WATER SAFETY\nAt Queensie we provide board training with some surf swim training in addition to Sunday Nippers. A great way to become water competent with sessions run by our expert and renowned water coaches.\nTim “Happy Days” Hayes – Head Coach and Masters Competitor, Ex Branch Water Coach with years of experience and tips.\nNathan Krieger – Nathan has been a Surf Club competitor for years, starting as a cadet at Freshwater and progressing to competitive Ocean Swimming and Surfing. Nathan brings experience from coaching Martial Arts, Skiing and now applies his love to Ocean sports.\nCatriona Ormond – Swim and Nipper Coach. Catriona is an accredited swim coach and will be assisting our team with beginner and intermediate nippers.\nJohn O-Toole – John is part of the Team Q family. A trainer, surfer and amazing with our younger Nippers assisting on Sunday mornings.\nKev Harris and Col White – Amazing Masters Competitors and Club legends will assist the team throughout the season. We are so grateful for their experience and knowledge.\n \nPlease note our Water Training Times.\nWed at Clontarf – 4.30pm –  5.15pm U8, U9, U10 and U14   5.15pm – 6pm – U11, U12, U13\nFriday at Queensie – 4.30pm –  5.30pm – U9 – U14\nSundays at Queensie – 8:30am – 9:30am U9-U14  and Beginners session U8’s 9.30am-10am.\nBeginners are welcome at our Wednesday sessions at Clontarf and Sunday sessions. Please always RSVP on Team App. This is essential for insurance reasons our water safety ratios. Any changes will also be posted on the app.\nIf you have your Bronze and would like to join our Water Safety Team please email Trudy –  trudy.rebbeck@sydney.edu.au\nOur water safety team are dedicated and busy – 3 sessions a week and Sunday Nippers plus carnivals. Please RSVP your availability on Team App and meet at the patrol shed Sunday mornings for briefing at 9.45am.\n \nBEACH TRAINING\nOur Beach Training team is lucky to be led by Michael Gedz – an Elite Masters Athlete and NSW development and pathways coach. Michael has years of experience getting the most out of his young runners.\nMichael is currently mentoring some of our Youth Athletes in Coaching and they will be assisting Milton Da Rocha with our Beginner squads whilst Michael trains our Elite Competitors.\nSundays Training – 8.30am – 9.30 am – U9 – U14.\nPlease RSVP on Team App.\n \n \n \n \n \n
