Queenscliff Surf Life Saving Club are committed to ensuring our club reflects the diverse community we serve. As part of that commitment, the Women of Queensie Committee formed for the first time this season, focused on developing a leadership pipeline for women financial members of the Club.

In March 2025, the Committee hosted its first virtual event featuring participants from Cohort 6 of Surf Life Saving Australia’s Women’s Mentoring Program. Established in 2020, the Program fosters ongoing supported pathways of personal and professional development, networking opportunities and a sense of community by pairing mentees and mentors from across the Country in order to develop and support emerging female leaders within the movement. Further, it supports SLSA’s 2025 Plan and Mission to ‘”save lives, create great Australians and built better communities” by developing a more capable and gender diverse leadership pipeline so our organisation can better reflect the demographics of our nation.

Featuring presentations from Grace Seaglove (Freshwater SLSC) and Tracey Bloxom (Coogee SLSC) and attended by Queenscliff SLSC’s President, Kevin Harris and Tamara Kirby, Director of Diversity and Inclusion, the event provided information on the Program application process, what mentees and mentors can experience and the benefits of the Program.
